Details:	The Hooker Valley offers a superb view of Mount Cook if you're lucky enough to be there on a rare clear day. On my New Zealand trip I watched the local weather forecasts every day and when I saw a clear day forecast for Mt Cook I hit the road from my base in Arrowtown and arrived the night beforehand. The next morning was clouded in so I waited patiently with great anticipation and by lunch time it had cleared to a beautiful sunny day with clear skies as far as the eye could see. I hiked up the hooker valley and found this great location. I got to work and half an hour later as I started to pack up, the entire valley fell into shadow as the sun moved behind the peak on the left! I had arrived just in time.

Print Information
