At first glance it may appear as if this photograph of beautiful Mossman Gorge was easy to capture. The truth of the matter though is that it was actually a little challenging! This was my fourth trip to Mossman Gorge, and it wasn't until then that I even got my camera out. The first time it had been raining heavily for weeks so this now calm gorge was overflowing with wild white water. The second time the conditions were looking good until I arrived but then the light changed and the third time there were multitudes of people everywhere swimming! So finally on my fourth trip I arrived at Mossman Gorge nice and early in the day to avoid the crowds and the light and conditions were finally perfect. I spent almost 2 hours shooting this area of the gorge from a number of different angles and then relaxed afterwards, going for a swim in the cool, clear waters of Mossman River alongside a school of jungle perch (Australian freshwater fish). |
