North of the Arctic Circle, the magnificent Lofoten Islands in Norway are one of the most incredible locations in the world. When conditions are right, it's a photographer's wonderland.
This particular Winter morning I had recently wrapped up our 2019 Lofoten Islands Photography Tour and was staying on with some friends to do some shooting. We awoke after a day of heavy snow to cold but incredible conditions, the soft pastel tones of sunrise filling the sky and not a breath of wind!
After capturing the beautiful sunrise in Reine and grabbing a local fish burger for lunch, the calm conditions were prevailing! We decided to head north and see what else we could
find.
On arrival at the renowned Fredvang bridges, we were greeted with deep snow and stunning reflections everywhere! We spent a couple of hours exploring a variety of view points.
As we neared sunset, I spotted this location close to the well known 'Wizards Hat' mountain, formally known as Volandstind. It was hard work climbing through waist deep snow to get here but wow, what a view!
I setup my gear and captured this stunning vista just as the sun began to set, combining 8 photos to create a unique, super wide field of view. Such an incredible experience!

For custom framed prints, Australia wide delivery generally takes 6-8 weeks and International delivery time takes 8-10 weeks.
