Only a couple of hours drive south of Sydney, Kiama is a beautiful town on the south coast of New South Wales.
Since relocating to the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Kiama has become a great stopover location for me when i'm doing the 2,000km drive from home to our Mornington Gallery in Victoria (and back!).
Cathedral Rocks are one of the natural highlights of the Kiama coastline and offer many great opportunities for keen photographers.
My first trip to Cathedral Rocks was one sunset in early 2022. I captured a few nice photos but knew that sunrise would offer even better opportunities. I woke around 5am the following morning and made my way back to the rocks. The sky was clear when I arrived but the weather had been quite changeable over the past few days so I thought I'd take my chances anyway. I experimented with a few different compositions and settled on this one as my favourite.
Thankfully, by the time the sun rose some clouds had rolled in and created a beautiful backdrop to the stunning scene before me. I waited for the sun to pierce the horizon and captured this dreamy long exposure, resulting in a misty effect from the waves breaking over the rocks. What a beautiful moment to witness! |

For unframed prints and gallery wall stock (framed prints), Australia wide delivery takes 1-2 weeks and International delivery takes 2-3 weeks. For custom framed prints, Australia wide delivery generally takes 6-8 weeks and International delivery time takes 8-10 weeks.
