Mount Buffalo is one of my favourite locations to shoot in the Victorian Alps, it offers highly unique scenery unmatched by any other mountain in Victoria.
It was quite a challenge just getting to this location without snow shoes. There had been a serious recent snowfall and the track was covered in fresh powder, some parts were close to 1 metre deep.
I keep fairly fit and walks like this are normally quite easy, in summer it takes me around 15-20 minute to walk the track but on this occasion it was closer to an hour. As I climbed the track I sank through fresh powder with every step in my nike air max (serious outdoor shoes), and had to rest regularly to catch my breath. At times my heart felt like it was going to jump out of my chest and then the nausea kicked in. It was amazing just how difficult it was but eventually I made it to the top and had just enough time to compose this pre-planned shot as the light peaked. What a magnificent sunset in a truly stunning location. As the light began to disappear I looked down and realised that my shoes and jeans were frozen solid around my ankles. I started the trek back down again eager to get into the warm car and thaw out. |

For custom framed prints, Australia wide delivery generally takes 6-8 weeks and International delivery time takes 8-10 weeks.
